Mazda’a head of global design, Ikuo Maeda, has inspired the relatively small design department at this Japanese car manufacturer to create some of the most stunning concept cars of the last three years. The Vision Coupé concept of 2017 still stands out as a bold, creative statement of intent. The launch of the Mazda 3 in Los Angeles last year (2018) was the first use of the incredible surfacing on its production line-up, and shows that Maeda-san is evolving the design language with immense care.
