The top 10 production and concept car designs for 2019, as featured in the Car Design Review 7 hardback annual (out soon), have been announced
With everything that has happened in the last few months, it is easy to lose track of time. But 2019 wasn’t that long ago (although it certainly seems it). Every year, Car Design News produces a beautifully crafted hardback book in which we profile the leading designers working in the automotive industry and ask those designers to vote for the production and concept car designs of the year. Car Design Review 7 will be launched next week at 15:00 BST in a Livestream with the winners and will be available to order from the CDN homepage on June 18th. The book also features a round-up of the important trends for 2019 and the best student work of that year, and this year’s book has a hand-crafted Maezio composite cover, created in collaboration with Covestro.
These awards are most meaningful because, rather than journalists or industry organisations judging the cars, we ask the most senior members of the automotive design industry to assess the work. Register now to find out who has won.
For 2019, the cars competing for the Production Car of the Year Award are:
Aston Martin DBX, Byton M-Byte, Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C8), Honda e, Land Rover Defender, Lotus Evija, Mustang Mach-E, Polestar 2, Porsche Taycan, Volkswagen ID.3.
